Deeper Communion: Part 3- Prophecy & Personal Responsibility

(Understanding and Cooperating with Conditional Prophecy)

Father is calling His children to deep intimacy. Deep Intimacy requires maturity, and maturity involves teaching, correction, and training. ( Eph 1:18,  2 Tim 3:16,  Heb 12:11)

Straight off, let’s clarify language. If you believe God speaks to your spirit, you believe in prophecy. “Prophecy” is simply the heart, mind, and will of the Father revealed to His children. It is our birthright and the normal expression of a living, breathing relationship with our Father, King and Counselor.

One of the areas of His kingdom we need to begin to embrace is personal responsibility when God speaks to us and shows us what is on His heart for us.

We are spirit beings. We interact with our Father’s kingdom through cooperation. We cannot cooperate if we do not hold ourselves accountable to what He is speaking to us about.

The Church in the United States has lost a lot of grit in this area. This carnal, western church mindset has begun polluting the Body of Christ abroad as well. When a fellowship begins to steer away from certain aspects of His heart, ultimately we uncouple from other areas altogether. All things in the kingdom are interrelated.

Loving, balanced teachings on holiness and personal responsibility, (which are grounded and rooted in His immense Love for His children) have all but disappeared in this generation. Gifts and callings will always become compromised when this occurs.

One such gift that has become compromised as a result of this is prophetic insight (a.k.a. Father’s heart revealed to us).

Let’s expound on this. There are two kinds of prophecy given.

  1. Unconditional prophecy
  2. Conditional prophecy

Unconditional prophecy is where the Holy Spirit shares something Father will bring to pass that requires no partnership on our end. Said another way, it requires no personal responsibility between our relationship with the Lord. A couple of examples of unconditional prophecy is the Return of Jesus, the Millennial reign, and the covenant with Abram (Gen 15:1)

Conditional Prophecy is where the Holy Spirit shares what is on the Father’s heart that requires our personal involvement and partnership in order to come to pass. This is grounded in intimacy. This is not to say our Creator is not omnipotent. Rather, it is an expression of His desire for deep communion and intimate fellowship. Examples of this are the prophecies of Jonah, the death of Hezekiah (2 Kings 20:1) and the declaration that Samson would be a Nazirite all the days of his life (Judges 13:7).

Understanding the nature of conditional prophecy is crucial if we desire to walk in greater intimacy with our Lord.

OK, so… here is how this looks.

The Lord will share with us something that He desires to do. He may do this through scripture, a dream, vision, impression, or spiritual word shared through another member of the Body. When this occurs, it is our part to go to Him in prayer and ask what specific leading and direction He desires us to take in order to allow His desire to come to pass in and through us. This is an expression of New Covenant living. Both parties play a role in their relationship with one another.

When Father shares something with us, it is an INVITATION to go deeper into His heart.

This is true whether it is a word of correction or a word of exhortation. For someone to share a legitimate spiritual word without teaching and instructing on that word, or how to partner with Father-God to bring this to pass, is spiritual negligence. Our walk with the Lord has a “God-side” and a “man-side.”  Let me repeat. It is spiritual negligence to share a conditional word without the blueprint. This spiritual carelessness is running rampant in this generation, and for many, is a deliberate decision not to share things that challenge the Body.  Deliberate.

  • Sharing Father’s heart has become a popular pastime (God-side)
  • Sharing the requirements on our end (personal responsibility) has not (man-side)

This borders on prophetic manipulation at best. At worst it is an emotionally stirring encouragement, rooted in the soul that actually hinders the recipient from maturing in Christ. As a result, the Body of Christ has trained ourselves to become very passive in our own prayer time. When the Lord shows us things to come, we have become idle recipients of His intention.

This really needs to end, guys. It is doing the Body great damage.

The kingdom of God is a government of intimacy with our Creator.  Stop and think on how many “prophetic” declarations have been shared with countless Christians that never seem to come to pass either corporately or for the individual. Why is this?

It is mindless and convenient to dismiss them all as false words (though this certainly does occur… a lot), but of the legitimate spiritual words that are brought forth, there is a more pervasive and serious ailment going on:

We have become afraid of  discussing anything that requires personal responsibility.

The result is we have become ignorant on how to partner with Him.

All over the world, Christians are being martyred, yet here in America, we are afraid to talk even about correction, much less persecution. We are told instead to simply “believe.” If we say “yes and amen” enough in response to a declaration of what God is going to “do” then (poof…) prophecy fulfilled?? This is simply not how His Kingdom operates.

Here is how things work, Family. When the heart of the Father is revealed, the vast majority of the time, it is conditional. It is an invitation to press into His heart more. Please remember Jesus died for the sake of intimacy with His creation. Salvation is the doorway to begin a relationship of deep communion. There is no real intimacy where there is no true partnership.

Most often, both words of correction, as well as exhortation, carry with them a condition based on an area of our belief-system He is asking us to correct. When Father shares His heart, He is revealing an aspect of His goodness, and how He desires to extend His goodness to His children. His kingdom government is based upon the Law of Love. We are qualified by the blood of Jesus. Now we only need to participate.

“and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.”  Col 1:12

Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature..” 2 Peter 1:4

Marriage is the closest earthly picture we have of kingdom intimacy. It is a covenant between two people. One of the many reasons why so many Christians have such strained marriages is we do not understand spiritual covenants. To the degree we cannot relate to how the Kingdom operates, we bring this darkened thinking into all of our own earthly relationships. The foundation of Father’s kingdom is based on His nature. Love.

Every year we may hear and read about what the Lord is doing.  Yet more than ever I see the American Church struggling and starving for a touch and taste of His goodness. Hearts are crying out to see His hand and His eyes. A large reason for this is that many of those in places of influence are not teaching and instructing the Body. We want to give exciting words, meant to soothe our pains and fears, instead of pointing to the altars of our heart where they are to be slain through cooperation with the Holy Spirit. This has gotten old. Very old. The Body is crying out for healing and true spiritual living. The counterfeit is losing it’s appeal. This is a good thing.

He shares His heart that we may answer His calling us to Himself. He offers us His goodness, His love, His gifts… His very Self.

This will always start in our soul (mind, will, and emotions). It is the soul that is the gatekeeper to either partnering with the Lord, or rejecting what He desires to bring to pass.

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” Gal 5:1

The immediate context here is in reference to Jesus introducing the law of Love. The fuller spiritual application here is that anything… anything.. that we turn to feed and comfort and soothe our pains, hurts, fears and wounds, prevents us from walking in the freedom of the law of Love. The result is slavery. The soulish, carnal answer within the church has been to offer up more fluffy prophecies and promises.

His goodness and love are not in any way in question here. Neither is prophecy. I am lovingly challenging those who have a place of influence to teach the full gospel. Please… stop muddying the waters for the rest of the Body.

To the rest of the flock: Do not be afraid to ask Him what he wants to perform in your heart in order to release His kingdom in you. It releases the power of His affection. It ushers us into the express reality of His kingdom. It is healing, restoration, and true Life!!  Please… don’t be afraid. His perfect love will eventually cast out all our fears as we continue to partner with Him and heal.

“We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.” 2 Peter 1:19

The Lord is dealing with careless and immature words being spoken in this season. He is in the process of lovingly disciplining the elders of this generation. But do not look to this.  Begin to practice the kingdom principles of conditional prophecy even when you do not see it practiced by others.

The next time you bear witness with a dream, vision or public/private word, I implore you, immediately begin to ask Father-God what is your own personal responsibility in this friendship. What does He want you to do? Here is a good place to begin: look to your thought life. It will often start there. It starts with your belief system. It is our beliefs that determine the kind of relationship we have with our Lord.

“Heavenly-Father, Lord Jesus, and Holy Spirit. I give you permission to show me areas you are longing to set me free from the lies and hurts and fears of this world. Show me what you long to do in my life, and where you desire greater intimacy.  I open up the door of my heart to you that we may have intimate fellowship. I give you all of myself.

Reveal to me your heart. Then I ask for the spirit of Wisdom and understanding to show me how to walk in your truth and cooperate with your plan for me in this season. I choose to cooperate with you, that we may walk in relational Oneness. So be it.”

Verses to consider:  2 Corinthians 10:4-5, Hebrews 11:6, John 15:5, Ephesians 1:18, Revelation 3:20.

My beloved family and friends- how I truly wish you knew the depth of my love for you all. … all of you… you are deeply cherished and loved.

Understanding The Times: 2017 Transitions In The Body of Christ

2017 Is A Transitional Season In The Body of Christ

Let me start by saying I prayed a lot on whether or not to share some of the things Father-God and I have been talking about. I have no desire to throw my hat into the mix of what is already a very confusing time in both the fractured Body of Christ and this nation. Perhaps it is this very reason that I feel His hand pretty heavy on me to do so.

As with all things, we must first come to accept that everything that our Father desires to accomplish or impart comes from His goodness and love. God is good. God is Love. All aspects of His intentions flow from this Nature.

This will be a several part series.  Under the New Covenant, as a redeemed child of God, we have the Holy Spirit within our spirit.  We all are meant to see, feel and know His heart in all seasons. What one shares, will be confirmed in our spirit-man. Either in whole, in part, or not at all. I invite you all to pray on these things.

Here goes:

One of the greatest joys Father-God created for Himself was the joy of intimacy. Throughout Church history, Satan has sought to rob each generation of this gift from God with God’s creation.

  • Plan A is to remove the gospel of salvation.
  • Plan B is to keep the redeemed Child of God carnal-minded and weak.

Prophecy is simply the revealing of the heart, mind, and intention of our Heavenly-Father. Said more directly,  “Father’s heart revealed.” Our Lord chose to manifest His will through the Church. This is an expression of intimacy, not of any weakness on His part.  It isthe longing for deep communion that He works through the Body of Christ, in which the Holy Spirit desires to, dare I say, violently, express His love toward us.

In all things, having proper kingdom perspective is paramount.

To the degree we do not have our Father’s perspective, we limit the degree of intimacy we walk in regarding the passions of His heart.

The Church- 2017:  A Great Return to Him

My Family-  The Lord is calling His Church to begin to take her place in this nation as the Light and Salt. We need to stop being passive witnesses to the events unfolding. We need to come into alignment with His heart. The Body of Christ needs to repent of self-centered living and convenience. We also need to repent of anger and unforgiveness with one another.

Let me repeat His heart here: His redeemed are the salt of the Earth and the Light in this generation.  Father-God is calling us to seek His heart and how much He loves us. The Church’s ability to speak the truth, in Love, (and without compromise!) will be determined by how much we press into our relationship with Him. Then, we must be willing to ask the Lord in what manner we are to stand up for righteousness. As I often say, “First things first.”

Returning To Our First Love

A great call is going forth by His Spirit toward His Children to seek what His Son died for.

This means returning to our First Love with all our heart, and inviting Him into ALL areas of our mind, will and emotions.  He loves us with a burning passion that much of the Church knows little about. This is carnality. He is removing the distractions in the Church by intensifying the need to rely on Him and know His goodness.

At present much of the body is fractured along 3 major fronts. These 3 areas are stumbling blocks and bondages that need to be removed in this generation of believers. There is no shame here. There is only the cry of our Lord’s heart to turn to Him. This is what true “repentance” means. It is not something the elders of this generation should ever have been afraid to discuss, teach and impart. Let’s put away “childish things” and have the courage to believe He loves us too much to allow this to continue. These 3 areas are:

  1. The Passive witnesses
  2. The Angry,Wounded and Judgemental
  3. The Self-Seeking

Passive Witnesses

Father operates through His sons and daughters. The role of the Church during this time is crucial. Every movement of God is advanced, hindered or prevented, not based on the power of Satan, but on how much the Church forfeits her authority. We are ambassadors called to carry out the battle plans of our Father. Authority is directed related to intimacy. The prayers of a righteous church are powerful and effective. A backslidden church has little authority to depose spiritual wickedness. When the Church chooses to forfeit her place in this world, she empowers a defeated enemy.

If the Church is content to sit idly by, thinking that things will work out without our participation,  we will miss our role and the nation will become worse off than before this latest election. There are no spectators in the Body of Christ.

The Wounded, Angry, and Judgemental

Conversely, many have lost sight, or worse still, never grasped a hold of the fierce reality that our Heavenly-Father sent His Son to redeem His creation, not curse them. Jesus forewarned us of a Church that would grow cold in His love (Matt24:12). We have, by in large, very little passion for His heart here in America. At first, what seems like passivity, in reality, goes much deeper. A resignation to punish and dole out “righteous” pain is poisoning the souls of many in the Church. This stems from great woundings and fear.

Father’s eyes are roaming this nation, extending invitations to walk in great depth of communion, where we will see, feel, and talk with Him about what is on His heart. Will we answer this call? Will we seek to heal and forgive? Is there any other gift greater than His heart and walking in the reality of His love for you?

The prophetic warning given by Jesus (Mark 4:19) that the pleasures of this world would choke out the Word from our hearts is in full swing in many fellowships. Those of us who have been granted place of influence to teach and admonish the spiritually younger believers  have fallen to using “ministry” to find a counterfeit self-worth. Comforts that are not based on our intimacy with our Savior have become the “first love” in the hearts of many.

OK, so it may  very well be said, my family, that this started from those called to serve the Body. But… we are all accountable for the decisions we make, and the desires that our hearts chose to seek after. This waywardness stems from a lack of understanding of how much Father loves us. It is the ever deepening revelations of His goodness that leads us to turn to Him with all our being. Peace, rest, abundance… these are byproducts of communion with Him. We seek to love Him, because He first loved us. To the degree we are not hearing, reading, and meditating on His heart and His kingdom, counterfeit comforts will surely find root in our souls. He is calling  us home. Home “in Christ.”

So there you have it. Exhaustive? No way. Intense in the sense it is on our Heavenly-Dad’s heart? You Bet!

There is no condemnation in His heart being shared with ours. Remember, it is love. It is the desire for oneness with His children. All… His children. Condemnation comes from the evil one. It is time we stopped listening to that old voice. All words, in the end, should point us to His throne-room. His kingdom. His eyes. His heart.

Is A Time of Furthering Father’s Calling Us To Himself

It did not start with this calendar year. But it certainly is intensifying in this season. Things will heat up. That heat is His love manifested.

Next post we will begin to discuss how things will be “fleshing” out in our nation in government, and how Father desires His family to bring to pass more of the passions of His heart.  First, however, it must begin within His bride.

More to follow…

Deeper Communion: Part 2- Embracing His Judgments

Deeper Communion-Part 2: Embracing His Judgments

Oh, dear Lord. Judgement?? Not that word!  Scary start for a study? Not at all.  Hang in there. These kinds of topics, when approached with an understanding that Father loves us passionately, fully, and without limit, will set us free to experience the reality of that fierce love in deeper and deeper levels.  This is a form of Intimacy.

We want to go deeper in our communion, right? Well, another key component to greater intimacy is embracing His Judgements. Let me break down what this means. Then we can look at how to walk out this kingdom principle in our lives daily.

ar·bi·trate – definition: (of an independent person or body) reach an authoritative judgment or settlement.

One of the most overlooked aspects of His heart and nature concerns His judgments. Here is a key.  Not all judgments are the same. There are different judgments to be rendered in regard to different aspects of His kingdom and government.  For example, there are judgments that have already taken place at the cross. There are also judgments that He desires to take place in us now. Then, there are additional judgments that have yet to take place. Some deal with Satan and the fallen angels. Some are in regard to the Redeemed. Some will be in regard to those who die having rejected Christ. We cannot lump them all in as one.

Past. Present. Future. Different judgements for different groups.

We have erroneously lumped in scriptures that have this word in them to all mean the same thing, regardless of which Covenant is being discussed and what is the actual subject of the judgment. We need to stop doing this. We also need to stop being afraid.

The word judgment means to make a  “formal decision given by a court.

Let’s look at one of my favorite verses on a “judgment” rendered in regard to His Redeemed.

“He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” 2 Cor 5:21

This, my deeply loved, family…. is a judgment. It was a decision rendered in the courts of heaven 2,000 years ago. This judgment is never overturned.

After receiving salvation, accepting His judgment in regard to righteousness is the single, most important Truth of His kingdom.

The entire dynamic of our relationship with the Lord hinges on righteousness.

Every other judgment that has flowed, or that will one day flow from His judgment seat, will be viewed and perceived through the lens of how well we grasp the Judgement of Righteousness. Our acceptance (or rejection) of this kingdom ruling governs every aspect of how we interact… or fail to interact, with Him and His government. It forms the very basis of our identity, from which we view Him, ourselves, and others.

“For every one that uses milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.” Heb 5:13

Anything our Lord has decided is a judgment. In regard to righteousness, He has already judged those who have sincerely confessed Jesus Christ as our eternal atonement.  If we are to further our relational intimacy with our Heavenly-Dad, we must begin to embrace  His judgment of Righteousness.

“Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before the angel. The angel said to those who were standing before him, “Take off his filthy clothes.” Then he said to Joshua, “See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put fine garments on you.” Zech 3:5

If one studies this passage, we will see a moment in time, under the Mosaic Law, where the Lord gives the prophet Zechariah a picture of what the atonement through Jesus’ shed blood will accomplish.

All the covenants instituted by God toward man, had one purpose in mind.                      They were all pointing to the cross.

The bible is a love story. The theme of it is a driving, relentless pursuit of our Creator (who just happens to have made us His children) to redeem His creation.  It is a story of a tireless and patient plan unfolding throughout the Ages that culminates at a new beginning. The Cross.

“This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.” Rom 3:22

“But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation”  1 Col 1:22

No other covenant that God gave man comes close to the New Covenant. All prior covenants (Adamic, Noahic, Abrahamic, Mosaic, Davidic; to name the major ones) all pointed toward the New Covenant. It is only the cross which allows us to stand before Him forever clothed in His shed blood, declaring we are made holy and righteous.

Consider the provision gifted to us in the New Covenant. There was a formal proceeding in the Courts of Heaven that was convened on the topic of Righteousness. A formal decision was rendered there in regard to sin. Here are some examples:

“Having been declared righteous, then, by faith, we have peace toward God through our Lord Jesus Christ,”  Rom 5:1

For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.”    Rom 5:17

But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”  1 Cor 6:11

Let me stop here for a moment.

Embracing the doctrinal reality of the gift of righteousness is not an excuse to sin. True agreement in our souls regarding His judgments about being made righteous in His blood will never spurn us on to sin. Rather just the opposite. It is the greater and greater revelations of His goodness that compels us to seek to be like Him (Rom 2:4). This is the root of intimacy.

Intimacy is experienced to the degree we embrace Him according to how He see us.

There can be no deep, true intimacy when we are approaching the Lord from a mindset of filthy garments.

How many of you would rather your children or closest friend not look you in the eye because they feel unworthy? Sounds nice, right? Intimate? Full of love and a deep sense of knowing one another, right?  Not really…

Please note here that there will also be no deep, true intimacy when we choose to live a life willfully given over to the desires of the carnal mind.  Will He always love us? Absolutely! Will we enjoy deep communion? Will we be honoring the One who deserves all our honor?  Ehhhh… not so much.

Let me reiterate. I am not at all interested in discussing the ways we can look for excuses to sin under His grace. This is a waste of all our time, and the motives of that discussion are most often rooted in either a spirit of lasciviousness or legalism.

What I am endeavoring to encourage you here is to begin to meditate on the reality that the shed blood gave us access to His very throne-room and that our rags have been stripped off of us. This is the application.

I invite you to begin to judge yourself.

In what areas are my thoughts and beliefs running contrary to what His own judgments declared about me? How about others? Is what is flowing out of my heart and thoughts a true reflection of His heart?

Intimacy comes from our entire being living and breathing in union with Him. This begins with salvation. It continues with our thoughts and beliefs. The first step in walking in ALL His judgments begins with judging ourselves in regard to being made holy, blameless and beyond accusation.

It all starts here. This is the first judgment we must face with Him as a child of God.

All other judgments to come in our lives are grounded in this foundational judicial ruling.

We will continue with this topic in the next post, where we will talk about how to walk in His judgments in all areas of our life.. and how this sets the stage for even deeper communion with our Heavenly-Dad.

Your brother,
