Understanding The Times: A Season To Heal & Know Him

Understanding the Times: Part 11- A Season To Heal & Know Him

This “prophetic” post (PLEASE remember prophecy is the heart, mind and will of God revealed) will probably be delivered with more intimacy than any other I have  shared outside my immediate fellowship that Maija and I gather alongside.  Like so many of the things I share, it is challenging. Love IS challenging. Jesus challenged during His Earth walk. He challenges us through the written record of His ministry.  He continues to challenge us all through the Spirit that moves powerfully within the Church. This is just one expression of His Love.

The Spirit is moving. Spiritual thrones are continuing to uproot and be replaced.

I have often taught that to the degree the Body of Christ understands and moves in agreement with what the Spirit of God is doing, the easier our spiritual walk can manifest Christ in our daily life.

The last couple of years have been seasons of re-alignment and re-positioning. Due to the immense amount of confusion and hurt that still exits within much of the Body, a great deal of Jesus moving things around within the Church and nation has been by sovereign grace. Although this is always a blessing, it is not our highest calling, or Father’s greatest desire. The Church ideally, is meant to carry out the Father’s will through exercising the authority of Jesus on behalf of Father’s will. This comes through deep intimacy and the Church putting all personal ambition and desires on the altar to be burned.

Deep wounds, scars, and pains within the children of God have been tools that Satan has taken advantage of to hinder this generation’s calling. This is being expressed through self-seeking and self-validation within the Church. When this happens, “Plan B” comes into action. “Plan B” is sovereign grace. The season of Sovereign Grace is shifting now. Father is looking to move upon the hearts of those willing to enter into a time to heal and mature. A younger generation is being prepared who are, at present, learning what “identity in Christ” means. Personal gain, notoriety, followers, and post-modern church status will not be on the heart and minds of these children of God.  These saints’ longings are only for what is on Father’s heart. God will use these men and women to heal others from the bondages mentioned above.

Much of the older generation that have pretty far reaching platforms have been talking about a group of Elijah’s and John the Baptists that are coming, but they are still not welcome. While those outside the traditional system are jostling for validation that was never given while within the system, those within it are still trying to accept the new wine in the old wine skins… and all the while still heralding the ones who will bring the “new wine.”

Likewise, the inception of social media in all its varied forms (including blogs and internet radio) was meant to be utilized by the Body to do what institutional church refused to: namely the letting go of control and self-worth being derived from our calling, gifts and abilities. It was meant to  be a venue to offer real discipleship, healing, and true mutual submission to Christ. However, much of the Body (though certainly not all) has instead turned to these outlets to bolster self-worth and identity.

We are still trying to find validation with one another, instead of healing and walking out the process of resting in the unconditional love and acceptance that comes from our Lord and Savior alone.

Praise God, the Spirit is moving once again to offer us a season to heal. It is an amazing and wonderful table He is setting before us all, filled with love and joy and healing and intimacy… and true freedom.

Many years ago, when I first begun questioning how the Church functions in relation to Father’s heart, mind and will, He began to show me an end-time Body that would sweep over the world with the fire that comes from a healed soul, and deep communion with Jesus. He showed me the small part  I would play as a member of this Body. Timelines are now beginning to shift, however. I have begin to ask Father if the promises He gave me, though, unconditional, would no longer be seen by me. I wonder if I will now only be a witness to the promise. I have been contemplating the spiritual principle of Hebrews 11:13. He is dealing with me in this regard and I could use prayer from all of you. He is also correcting some rebellion within me.

Those of you who have gotten to know me, through personal contact,  teachings and blogs know I laugh a lot and I cry a lot. I can add one thing to this: God’s grace sustains us all, and I know we shall all see the goodness of God manifested in the land of the living… if not the way I once had anticipated.

I have no weekly prophetic word for you. I seldom have a word from Father’s heart that does not carry with it both the God-side and the man-side in this most amazing NEW covenant relationship. I am not supported by sponsors or tithes or fund-me tabs that can make it challenging to speak the full counsel of Father’s heart in love to the Body.  In this regard, I am “free.” But… I am not free from feeling Father-God’s heart for His most precious and beloved children, and unless I finally submit to Satan’s constant nagging to forget all this “church pain” … I never will be. We all have a cost to count. I am no different, am I?

There is time. There is grace. There is always His sovereign Hand. Above this, however, is the greatest of all. His immense Love. He calls to this generation as He has called to every one prior that has led us to this point in man’s eternal redemptive plan. He wants you and you alone. He wants all of you without compromise. He wants all of me. I am trying…

Please begin to ask Father how you can come into even greater alignment with His heart. What is your role? Where are we to disciple? In what areas do we need some true discipling ourselves at the same time? Where does greater healing and alignment need to take place in our thinking; in the way we chose to relate to each other, the lost, and above all, Father-God? I am right there in the crucible as well.  This is a season to heal. A season to get to know Him more fully.

A season to enter into the maturity of Eph 4:11-14 and Hebrews 5:12-14 is upon us.

Joy AND sober-mindedness are not contradictions to the mature believers. Let us agree with Him that, above all things,  we once again seek to lay hold of that which laid hold of us.

All my love and prayers and faithfulness, Family.

Always your brother~

David

Deeper Communion: Part 5-Manifestations Verses His Manifest Presence

One of the questions I hear discussed a lot from those who are hungry for deeper communion is:

“Why does my heart ache even though I am learning how to discern and interact with His kingdom more?

That really is a wise question, and it’s on the heart of many in this hour.

ANSWER:  The reason is because being a yielded vessel to minister to others is not the same as a child of God being willing to be transformed in all one’s being. Said another way,  “manifestations are not the same as His manifest presence.”

“I want to know Christ–yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,” Phil 3:10

Expressions of His kingdom are offered to both the lost and the Body of Christ  in one of 2 ways.

  1. Manifestations- (Gifts of the Holy Spirit)
  2. Manifest Presence– (impartations of His very nature flowing outward from within)

The former is pretty easily attained as it only requires learning how to yield to the leading of the Holy Spirit, step out in some boldness and pushing past the fear of rejection & failure. Legitimate manifestations may operate completely independent from His nature. ( see 1 Cor 13)

His manifest presence however, is another story. This comes only through His nature. This requires one to come face to face with the Lord and allow Him to speak to us about areas that are not sanctified. This starts with our belief system. The bottom line is there are thoughts and beliefs that are buried within us that Father-God desires to talk with us about.

I cannot emphasize this enough. It is our beliefs that determine our thoughts, emotions and intentions. This in turn,  will determine the depth of His manifest presence flowing from within our being. Something I may add, we are all called to walk in. (Acts 17:28, Rom 12:1-2, 2 Pet 1:19,)

Teaching on this subject have fallen out of favor. Unbalanced and outright abusive preaching have influenced this generation so much we either despise correction unless it is lathered in obscene amounts of coddling, or is watered down to the point where it becomes focused on oneself and increased self-comfort (what’s in it for me?).

Manifestations

Ever see someone move in a gift of the Holy Spirit? Of course. Pretty common, right? These brothers/sisters are fun to be around. They challenge in a fun way. It’s exciting and births in us a desire to flow in more gifts… and we should. Gifts of the Spirit are, well…. pretty amazing ways to minister to others. My most “shared” blogs are the writings of an encounter with another where I allowed Father to use me.

Manifest Presence

Now, let me ask you this:

When was the last time you got around someone and as they stood next to you, you could actually feel the love of Jesus compelling you to know Him better? Ever have a conversation and perceive one’s eyes almost seem to shimmer with the eyes of our Savior? You desire to be near them, not for what they do or say or the gifts they possess, but because their very proximity brings peace, rest and a sense that you are unconditionally loved and valued. Ever get around someone and you are itching to suddenly break away; to  just run outdoors, fall to your knees and tell God how much more of Him you desire? When was the last time you stood before another christian and just wanted to cry because you felt Father’s arms reach out to you through this person while you discussed nothing more spiritual than comparing your favorite winter coffee flavors? Ever stand before this type and silently began to repent of a sin under your breath to the Lord? Not out of guilt or shame, but because you realize you want to walk more intimately with Father-God? You touched fire….

I bet this is a tiny bit less common. Am I right? On that same note- Ever not want to be around this same kind of person? I sure have…

Do you want to know why that is? The most violent living waters of Father’s Love flow with the currents of holiness. That’s right. Holiness. Holiness vibrates on a spiritual frequency that will burn up sin. That child of God is not interested in compromise. The burning love of God flowing through one of His children has a tremendous cost attached to it. It is the cost of being willing to continually allow the Holy Spirit to speak to them about uncomfortable issues.

This results in a walk that manifests love AND holiness at the same time. This is not always comfortable to be around. Push past this. The love of God will compel you to want more. It will become an all consuming desire for us as well.

If we want to walk in the greatest intimacy that has been made available to us through the gift of righteousness, we must choose to relate to Him in righteousness ( Gal 6:8,   Rom 13:14 ) in the same way He has gifted us positionally ( 2 Cor 5:21,  Col 1:22,).

NOTE: Our spirit-man longs to transform our soul into His image. We, as spirit-beings desire Father’s plumb-line. But, the carnal-minded aspects of our soul, the areas we have not yet allowed Him to correct in us; these prefer extremes in response to wounding and wrongful teachings. The carnal minded-soul wants to find the ditch of excessiveness… and then cross the road and jump into the gully on the other side. And… the carnal-minded soul has become exceedingly efficient at it. This directly hinders the depth of our spiritual intimacy with the Lord. (John 4:24,  Rom 8:7)

Application:

Get alone with the Lord today. Ask Him to reveal to you one area He wants to speak to you about. This mindset must go deeper than conduct. It is an attitude of the heart. It is rooted in our fears and wounds and identity.

Invite Him in to illuminate something buried deep within. We keep our eyes fixed on Him, and allow Him to fix steadfastly on where He wants to touch us. One area that if, conformed to the image of Christ, would usher you into the next level of intimacy and communion in Him. Any idea what that is? Well… He knows.  Give Him permission.

When fear and anxiety begin to kick up, this is GOOD. These are lies and wounds being brought to the surface. This is part of the process. Remember please, holiness is “being in the same nature as God.” Do not be afraid to discuss “holiness” with Him.

“So they stirred up the people and the elders and the teachers of the law. They seized Stephen and brought him before the Sanhedrin.

All who were sitting in the Sanhedrin looked intently at Stephen, and they saw that his face was like the face of an angel.” (Acts 6:15)

There is a cost that comes with this kind of reflection of His nature. His unconditional love and Divine approval. There is nothing sweeter than communing with Him from this reality and place of rest… and then giving His goodness to the rest of His creation that He loves beyond words.

Now, let’s be clear here. I do not consider myself a very good conduit of His nature at times. But… I am willing to let Him speak to me on what He desires to transform from within.

In the end, this is all He asks of any of His children. Go for it, family.

Blessings to you all,
David

Understanding The Times: Part 10- The Full Picture Of Mercy

My beloved Body of Christ,

I am going to share some things the Father spoke to me about these last couple of months before these storms manifested in the physical realm. My desire is to help point us all to His heart and in that, greater intimacy with Him.

There is not much teaching on the different ways  His hand of loving mercy is expressed. Fear, erroneous teachings, and others who were meant to nurture and mature us into Christ, but instead wounded us deeply, incline our heart to embrace extremes. Wisdom cries out in this hour… we need to have the courage to walk in His heart and not the excessive ditches of immaturity.

Come, let us reason together. Let us join in the counsel of the Lord and walk in more of His mind and heart.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10

Satan destroys. God gives life. The cross has satisfied the wrath of God. Period. (Rom 5:9)

Jesus took it all. What remains is the sharing of the good news.  A pure and holy Church is meant to display His love, power, and goodness when the “lost” run farther and farther away from the Father. We, members of the Body, are the Good News manifested to the lost.

We have been made ambassadors of His nature and His Name. When we begin to drift from that, we stop walking in our authority. When this occurs, worldliness fills the void. First in the heart of the Church. When the fire and purity of a living and thriving relationship with our Lord grows a bit dull and backslidden, the spiritual atmosphere of heaven stops reaching as far as it once did. The Church forfeits the impact and authority she was commissioned to carry forth.

Wickedness begins to manifest in the land. The Lost begin to have the greater say on what “truths” govern a land. Laws are overturned. Ungodly ones replace them. The earth begins to groan.

When a nation begins to drift from His nature, Divine protection will continue to remain upon that people and land… for a season.

Then it begins to lift.  Little by little. This is one form of mercy. This is not wrath. I implore all of us to realize the greatest mercy our Father offers is to escape hell.

Everything we meditate on must be seen from His ETERNAL desire.

“No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.” Heb 12:11

The vain fury of Satan and the groanings of the earth are permitted in order to wake us up to seek His heart and come into alignment with His desire. Those desires are:

#1. The Great Commission

#2. Great intimacy

All events must be viewed from this kingdom reality.

We who are parents have no problem whatsoever in applying this biblical principle with our own children. Why do we rage so hard against His mercy and love when it manifests in a season of allowing a land to reap what was sown?

Are we not His children? Is this not the greatest mercy toward His lost who wait for the power of the gospel to come through His Church that has made a course adjustment in her heart?  Is this not love? Is the greatest mercy possible not to save us from the wages of sin? Do we allow, our own children, in the name of “mercy,” to never be corrected? Is this truly the heart of the Father? Guys, this thinking is in direct contradiction to what intense and mature love looks like.

Let me stop here. GOD DOES NOT SEND DEATH.  Discipline comes in the form of a people being left without the full protection of His Divine hand.

“Because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.” Heb 12:6

Perfect love casts out all fear.  If the Word says discipline is love, and we are afraid to embrace it, we are resisting the embrace of His heart in areas of our thinking and walk.

What wounds do we need to ask Him to heal in order for us to stop contending with His heart in this area?

Calamity (whether these recent/present hurricanes or any other form) represents an exposure in our flanks…. Why are our flanks exposed? Only the Church has true authority. The lost have NO authority. They only have the salt and the light of the Church. Where is that salt, my dear family?

Questions the Father is inviting us to come before Him with:

“Father”

  • “What are You doing in this very hour?”
  • “What does that look like?”
  • “How is the Church meant to come into alignment with what You are doing?”

The lesser mercy of protection is pretty useless from an eternal reality if we, the Church, do not know how to partner with the Holy Spirit to extend the greater mercy, namely Salvation. If the Church is focused on mercy without that mercy pointing to the greatest mercy: the need for atonement offered through Jesus Christ, we are out of balance. We are still on milk. We are immature in our thinking. (Heb 5:12)

“No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.” Heb 12:11

There are more things to come. This is not wrath, and we should not be afraid. Nor is it the Hand of God falling upon us. It is just the opposite. He partners with holiness. He partners with humility and a contrite heart. He loves us… just the way we are. But… He wants all of us, and He wants His lost children to come to salvation.

A couple of years ago I was permitted to share about some things that will come to pass if we do not make some course adjustments (see link: Things To Come: 2015)

IMPORTANT PRINCIPLE:

Some events that take place will be the natural consequences of a spiritual Church that truly, deep down, struggles with making Jesus her First Love.

&

Some events will be from the Accuser that must pass by His  *throne-room  with a nod. Those will be permitted in order to help drive us to His heart, without compromise.

Father is calling our hearts. God is love. “Prophetic” people and elders of the Body… He implores you, stop being afraid to share the deeper things that are on His heart. We cannot mature without the full counsel of God, and the lost will not be reached the way they are meant to be.

Was this really so hard to accept? If so, why?  Father longs for us to ask Him these questions.

Why is a defeated enemy able to destroy in a land of thriving Christians and a Church flourishing in power and authority?

Storms die as do the memories by those who did not suffer much.  There is a deeper dialogue Father wants us to enter into. We are not meant to dust ourselves off and get back to our broken and fearful lives. During this challenging time for many, I am praying protection over this land, and above all, His heart revealed to His Church during this season.

Let me be crystal clear. The wrath of God was satisfied on His Son, who died for us. In all of this calamity (which will fade very quickly, and be forgotten if we are not careful to understand the times), Father is calling to us from the Garden of His Heart.

“My Beloved. Do you know all the things  I long to share with you?”

In Love,

David

* (For those who engage in courtroom intercession, have you asked Him yet to show you the courts that govern over the people of a land? Have we even considered the courtrooms of the Lost? They are very real…

There are more to court-rooms than merely for claiming our own inheritance. What is permitted to preside over a land that we need to take to heaven? Are we willing to hear what He says about that matter?  If any of this speaks to your spirit, reach out to me via email or Facebook. There is much to talk about 🙂 )

Understanding The Times: 2017 Transitions In The Body of Christ

2017 Is A Transitional Season In The Body of Christ

Let me start by saying I prayed a lot on whether or not to share some of the things Father-God and I have been talking about. I have no desire to throw my hat into the mix of what is already a very confusing time in both the fractured Body of Christ and this nation. Perhaps it is this very reason that I feel His hand pretty heavy on me to do so.

As with all things, we must first come to accept that everything that our Father desires to accomplish or impart comes from His goodness and love. God is good. God is Love. All aspects of His intentions flow from this Nature.

This will be a several part series.  Under the New Covenant, as a redeemed child of God, we have the Holy Spirit within our spirit.  We all are meant to see, feel and know His heart in all seasons. What one shares, will be confirmed in our spirit-man. Either in whole, in part, or not at all. I invite you all to pray on these things.

Here goes:

One of the greatest joys Father-God created for Himself was the joy of intimacy. Throughout Church history, Satan has sought to rob each generation of this gift from God with God’s creation.

  • Plan A is to remove the gospel of salvation.
  • Plan B is to keep the redeemed Child of God carnal-minded and weak.

Prophecy is simply the revealing of the heart, mind, and intention of our Heavenly-Father. Said more directly,  “Father’s heart revealed.” Our Lord chose to manifest His will through the Church. This is an expression of intimacy, not of any weakness on His part.  It isthe longing for deep communion that He works through the Body of Christ, in which the Holy Spirit desires to, dare I say, violently, express His love toward us.

In all things, having proper kingdom perspective is paramount.

To the degree we do not have our Father’s perspective, we limit the degree of intimacy we walk in regarding the passions of His heart.

The Church- 2017:  A Great Return to Him

My Family-  The Lord is calling His Church to begin to take her place in this nation as the Light and Salt. We need to stop being passive witnesses to the events unfolding. We need to come into alignment with His heart. The Body of Christ needs to repent of self-centered living and convenience. We also need to repent of anger and unforgiveness with one another.

Let me repeat His heart here: His redeemed are the salt of the Earth and the Light in this generation.  Father-God is calling us to seek His heart and how much He loves us. The Church’s ability to speak the truth, in Love, (and without compromise!) will be determined by how much we press into our relationship with Him. Then, we must be willing to ask the Lord in what manner we are to stand up for righteousness. As I often say, “First things first.”

Returning To Our First Love

A great call is going forth by His Spirit toward His Children to seek what His Son died for.

Intimacy.

This means returning to our First Love with all our heart, and inviting Him into ALL areas of our mind, will and emotions.  He loves us with a burning passion that much of the Church knows little about. This is carnality. He is removing the distractions in the Church by intensifying the need to rely on Him and know His goodness.

At present much of the body is fractured along 3 major fronts. These 3 areas are stumbling blocks and bondages that need to be removed in this generation of believers. There is no shame here. There is only the cry of our Lord’s heart to turn to Him. This is what true “repentance” means. It is not something the elders of this generation should ever have been afraid to discuss, teach and impart. Let’s put away “childish things” and have the courage to believe He loves us too much to allow this to continue. These 3 areas are:

  1. The Passive witnesses
  2. The Angry,Wounded and Judgemental
  3. The Self-Seeking

Passive Witnesses

Father operates through His sons and daughters. The role of the Church during this time is crucial. Every movement of God is advanced, hindered or prevented, not based on the power of Satan, but on how much the Church forfeits her authority. We are ambassadors called to carry out the battle plans of our Father. Authority is directed related to intimacy. The prayers of a righteous church are powerful and effective. A backslidden church has little authority to depose spiritual wickedness. When the Church chooses to forfeit her place in this world, she empowers a defeated enemy.

If the Church is content to sit idly by, thinking that things will work out without our participation,  we will miss our role and the nation will become worse off than before this latest election. There are no spectators in the Body of Christ.

The Wounded, Angry, and Judgemental

Conversely, many have lost sight, or worse still, never grasped a hold of the fierce reality that our Heavenly-Father sent His Son to redeem His creation, not curse them. Jesus forewarned us of a Church that would grow cold in His love (Matt24:12). We have, by in large, very little passion for His heart here in America. At first, what seems like passivity, in reality, goes much deeper. A resignation to punish and dole out “righteous” pain is poisoning the souls of many in the Church. This stems from great woundings and fear.

Father’s eyes are roaming this nation, extending invitations to walk in great depth of communion, where we will see, feel, and talk with Him about what is on His heart. Will we answer this call? Will we seek to heal and forgive? Is there any other gift greater than His heart and walking in the reality of His love for you?

Self-Seeking

The prophetic warning given by Jesus (Mark 4:19) that the pleasures of this world would choke out the Word from our hearts is in full swing in many fellowships. Those of us who have been granted place of influence to teach and admonish the spiritually younger believers  have fallen to using “ministry” to find a counterfeit self-worth. Comforts that are not based on our intimacy with our Savior have become the “first love” in the hearts of many.

OK, so it may  very well be said, my family, that this started from those called to serve the Body. But… we are all accountable for the decisions we make, and the desires that our hearts chose to seek after. This waywardness stems from a lack of understanding of how much Father loves us. It is the ever deepening revelations of His goodness that leads us to turn to Him with all our being. Peace, rest, abundance… these are byproducts of communion with Him. We seek to love Him, because He first loved us. To the degree we are not hearing, reading, and meditating on His heart and His kingdom, counterfeit comforts will surely find root in our souls. He is calling  us home. Home “in Christ.”

So there you have it. Exhaustive? No way. Intense in the sense it is on our Heavenly-Dad’s heart? You Bet!

There is no condemnation in His heart being shared with ours. Remember, it is love. It is the desire for oneness with His children. All… His children. Condemnation comes from the evil one. It is time we stopped listening to that old voice. All words, in the end, should point us to His throne-room. His kingdom. His eyes. His heart.

Is A Time of Furthering Father’s Calling Us To Himself

It did not start with this calendar year. But it certainly is intensifying in this season. Things will heat up. That heat is His love manifested.

Next post we will begin to discuss how things will be “fleshing” out in our nation in government, and how Father desires His family to bring to pass more of the passions of His heart.  First, however, it must begin within His bride.

More to follow…

Podcast#31: Understanding Prayer & Fasting

What are we truly engaging in spiritually when we enter into a fast?

This broadcast will help us:

  • Understand what fasting really does and does not do
  • Understand how fasting works in regard to intercession (Matt 17:21 explained)
  • Break down some mis-applications and inaccurate teachings regarding fasting

Much confusion and disappointment abound on the topic of fasting and prayer, and application is often met with scattered and mixed results because the true scriptural and kingdom practice of fasting is often skewed.

When properly understood, however,  fasting becomes a wonderful spiritual tool meant to aid in engaging the kingdom of our citizenship, as well as deepen our spiritual walk.

I hope to simplify and clarify this often overlooked and wonderful practice.

God bless you all, my dear family.

David
